Hey Aliencan...lol...what makes you think that we don't already have our weapons of mass destruction in Earth's orbit as we speak...hidden inside our 12 mile long satellites? If you don't believe this possibility you are very naive indeed.

I saw you Guys are Taling about Star Wars here. Ok. Let me give my knowledge about this stuff. Russia is Currently working on Some new Projects. Many of you will see it by 2020. America is thinking of Dominating Space but they will not Prevail. I can assure you they will totally Fail. Russia and China are Developing ASAT Weapons that would be able to Shoot Down Satelites for Example American Satellites. I wouldn't be too Surprise if Russia Shoot down one of it's Satellite by Starting of Next Year. ALso a lot of guys are talking about Hypersoic on here. Did you guys see the New Missile Russia and India is Working Called the Brahmos 2. Did you guys see the new Topol m ICBM Missile Called SS-27 this one can reach a Hypersonic Speed of Mach 15. So Far No Country can Defend against it. This is to Show that Russia is Comming with new Technology. Oh yeah one more thing Surely do look out for the new Graney and Borei Class Submarines, ALso look out for PAK FA T 50 Jet. ALSO look out for Russia new Bomber PAK DA. Did you guys check out the Ayaks Hypersonic Jet Yet. What about HFL VK Hypersonic Missile. One thing that would give Russia a Chance Is if they Create an Asat weapons of Hypersonic Speed of Mach 8 or more. That will Scare the US. Not only that If they ever Create such a Missile and sell it to China that would cause big Confusion.

The US Starwars project isn't a real project. it's a media name that covers a number of diffrent aggressive and defensive systems currently under development. These include laser, microwave and plasma technologies and since the idea for these projects was first raised by President Regan nearly 25 years ago that development has gone a long way. I've posted basic info about these projects on other threads so I'm not going to repeat that instead i think you guys should know the real low down on the over all aims of the project and the repercussions that has had. As soon as it was announced by the US both Communist Russia and China threw huge diplomatic fits that basicly stated if you put any weapons in orbit we will to. This all promted an agreement that no weapon platforms would be launched and also paved the way for the International Space Station as an attempt to stop our petty greivances from spreading beyound this planet. It did not however stop the projects that come under the 'Starwars' Banner. It just ment that all such weapons would have to be earth bound. Recently it has also resulted in some other experiments which are being kept out of the general media. Two years ago America test fired a missile that was capable of destroying any saterlite in orbit, the 'new' part of this is that the missile was fired from a Navy ship an is apparently only a little bigger than a cruise missile. No missile this small has ever achieved escape velocity before and rumours sugest that the Navy used a Ram Jet to achive this. Rumours also sugest they used either a Plasma or Ion engine but I dont put much stock in that as Plasma technology is not that miniturised yet and Ion engines are powerful enougth.

In response the Russians apparently test fired a similar system (Proof that the elite in Russia didn't sell everything off when the old regieme collapsed.) China however took an entirely diffrent approach, they simply altered the orbit of one of their old saterlites, proving that their old technology is a lot more dynamic than anyone thought it was. This saterlite then crashed into anougther old chinese saterlite with pin point accuracy compleatly destroying both. The hidden threat here is that the Chinese Military excells in hacking, it's they're primary 21st century weapon, its not much of a step to supose they could hack an enermy (either weastern US, EU or Russian) saterlite and use that to either bring down our saterlites thus compleatly disrupting our comunications and our GPS system (destroying that stops us from targetting our missiles and strike aircraft) or use it to collide with an incoming missile as it reaches the apex of its trajectory.

So there are no weapons in orbit, there are certainly no twelve mile saterlites which contain a rafts of hypertech based offensive systems. There are however alot of old saterlites that are little more than floating bricks, crude but very effective and a lot of these contain some pretty nasty chemicals within their power supply systems. The thought of one of these falling out of orbit to hit a city with what is effectivly a chemical payload is not nice, although the use of chemicals as weapons is banned by various conventions and it should be noted that these saterlites arn't capable of air bursting to create a truely horrific senario. Also you all should now be asking what exactly did fall out of the sky to hit outside that south american village and make so many people sick, has some body already tried a live test of this theory and if so who? Did China really have the guts to bring something down in the US's backyard, or did the US do it in a location they knew they could properly research the results and salvage the evidence from.

Loa is absolutely correct on the name "Starwars." It was first used to make fun of the President Ronald Reagan and his desire to weaponize space for defense.

Word is that we have had defensive platforms in space since the 1980s, so the directed energy weapon  went on as a black project and was placed in orbit. Some think that the weapons are pointed AWAY from Earth for defense from? These platforms most likely were a joint U.S./Soviet project, which will amaze those who lived through the Cold War. Perhaps there is a common enemy, as hinted to by President Reagan more than once.

Some will remember the STS 48 video, where some sort of beam weapon or something else fired at an apparent UFO....
